EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 1, 2001

Due to the radical and frequent security changes that are being instituted by the airlines and military installations, I must temporarily eliminate transportation assistance. I apologize for the inconveniences you may incur. Liz

TRANSPORTATION:

SEA-TAC AIRPORT

We offer pickup and delivery service from Sea-Tac Airport. Please call in advance to make arrangements. For arrivals, we need to know your flight number, airline, and time of arrival. We need a contact phone number: either where you will be after your arrival, or someone who will know how to contact you.

If we will be shipping your pet from Sea-Tac, call to make arrangements.

If at all possible, you and your pet should travel on the same plane-it is much cheaper.

Here are things to consider when shipping your pet:

  • the proper size crate is large enough for the dog to stand up and turn around
  • airlines require two water dishes per animal; a good tip is to freeze the water in the dishes before you leave, so it doesn't all spill
  • you'll need a health certificate from your vet-they are only valid for ten days
  • some countries have quarantine periods-contact the Department of Agriculture or that country's consulate for further details-Hawaii has a quarantine period, Washington state does not
  • if you're travelling ahead of your pet in order to find quarters, we can make airline travel arrangements for your pet once you let us know that you're ready
  • hot summer weather can cause delays-airlines will not ship an animal if the temperature at any airport en route exceeds 85 degrees
  • we have shipped animals all over the world-what we do know for sure is, that the airlines are constantly changing shipping rules to protect your pets and their liability-double check all rules with the source-we do

FT. LEWIS and McCHORD AFB

Military beware: Ft. Lewis and McChord AFB do NOT have kennels. The Ft. Lewis Lodge has a very strict policy prohibiting pets in the rooms. If you value your pay grade, don't even think about sneaking your pet into your room.

We offer pickup and delivery to both installations. When advance arrangements are made, we are able to meet you on post any time of day. If you don't call till you arrive, we'll get there as soon as business permits. See IN GENERAL below for more details regarding pickup and delivery.

SENIOR CITIZENS

We have limited pickup and delivery for senior citizens who can't drive. This is for grooming or boarding. See IN GENERAL below for more details regarding pickup and delivery. We offer senior discounts on most kennel services.

IN GENERAL

We're a boarding kennel; we're not a taxi company. We offer pickup and delivery as a courtesy service (at a nominal fee) to our customers who most need assistance. Our vehicle and pet transportation insurance mandates that Liz, the owner, will be the only driver who transports animals. This stipulation severely limits our transportation abilities. If you live locally and are healthy, and would like door-to-door transportation, contact your favorite taxi company. They'll be happy to transport your crated animal at your convenience.
